Welcome to the home of Art by Ross. This is the gallery of Staffordshire artist and author Ross Slater-Finch and is where you can browse all her artwork and printed items currently available.

Ross is based in the lovely little town of Rugeley in Staffordshire which is surrounded by the beautiful forests of Cannock Chase. Her studio has been in the heart of the town for over 20 years and has an art and craft shop attached and a very small and modest teaching space where she teaches others how to draw, paint and create.

Having grown up in a very arty family, Ross started drawing and painting from a very young age. From high school where she gained an ‘A’ in GSCE Art, she went on to college and studied a BTEC in General Art and Design and then gained a BA in Art and Educational Studies at the University of Hertfordshire.

Art has always been a passion for Ross and she works in all kinds of mediums and styles from pencil sketches, ink, lino printing, silk painting, watercolour, acrylic and oils, as well as paper cut and more recently digital. Instead of sticking to one medium, Ross likes to allow the subject to dictate the medium she uses.

Ross is also an author of a series of art books called ‘The Art Mentor’. This series of books brings together all the skills and lessons Ross has used over the years to teach her students to draw and paint and will now  help you on your way to becoming a better artist.
